The operation of the Bergen Police Headquarters was carried out by the departments and forces adjacent to the State Police Office. Since it was feared that the activities of the motorcycle clubs would pose a serious threat to public safety and order, the police decided to set up several checkpoints near two places in Stralsund in Gasometerweg and in Bergen in Ringstrasse. According to the police, a special technology was used to monitor traffic, especially for motorcycles. This allowed the rocker group’s controls to focus on the possibility of carrying dangerous objects and on compliance with traffic regulations.
Determining crimes and misdemeanours
“As police, we monitor the development of motorcycle clubs. Directed police measures are aimed at preventing the formation of legal voids and the resulting dangers to the population. In this regard, the police resolutely oppose high-profile demonstrations of power by rockers and constantly act on rock-related incidents in order to support Citizens’ sense of security,” said the police chief in charge, adding: “Today’s operation was successful from the police point of view. In addition to the identified criminal and administrative offenses, knowledge has also been gained that sheds more light on the structures in the rock environment.”
During the police operation, there were temporary slight traffic restrictions. Around 10:30 p.m., police procedures were largely over.
Saken: “We only heard the police now and then, we didn’t see anything”
Little did the Stralsund residents notice the large number of police and monitors. This is not surprising, since the Gasometerweg is a dead end in an industrial wasteland between Greifswalder Chaussee and the residential area of an old sugar mill. “We heard the police from time to time and were also surprised, but we couldn’t see anything about the large police presence,” says a resident of the residential area.

Even the next day, the area looks very deserted, with no sign of any meetings or parties. It appears that the Bandidos used the secluded area to gather. Because the area around the former oil division plant is still comfortable. Previous gas gauges were demolished in the early 2000s.
It was actually supposed to build a “Stortebecker Garden” on the site
The “Störtebeker Park” should be established here early in 2019, where regional handicrafts will be displayed and fresh produce will be sold. At the time, NordOst Design GmbH said production should take place in transparent plants. According to the latest information, the owner of the area of about 18,000 square meters was an entrepreneurial family from Baden-Württemberg who wanted to invest “several million euros”.
In the first construction phase, a parking lot for 220 cars including shuttle traffic to the old town should be started. His ticket booth still stands alone in the landscape.
