We often see a Chevrolet Corvette in many variants, but we rarely see an example that has been completely restored. This car is made in the USA
Details have been restored and we rarely see something like this. The car was literally disassembled to the last nail and restored to the smallest detail. At the same time, the technology has been completely revised and we dare say that this car is in a condition that cannot be called anything other than new. It is a rare method of work in the United States. In many cases, it is not necessary to perform a complete Corvette restoration right away to achieve an acceptable end result. If you, as an owner, don’t aim for at least a perfect end result, you can’t avoid restoring Auto Body Off and that’s what was done. The fact that the car was ordered new with a manual transmission by the first owner is the ideal on the cake.
The Corvette body looks nice, the moldings fit perfectly everywhere and the plastic body has very good gaps. Not only does the silver and pearl finish perfectly match the space age look of the car, it’s also the color in which the car was originally ordered from the factory. Painting work was carried out at a high level at that time. The paint is still free from signs of damage and has a beautiful, deep sheen. The car has the usual, correct Corvette rims with good tires in the right size. If we look at the bottom, we can see that the car frame is still in good, good condition and was professionally painted during the restoration. The exhaust system is also of course in very good condition.
The car’s interior has been completely re-upholstered with attention to originality. The seats are upholstered in black vinyl. The carpets have been completely renovated and fit well throughout. The dashboard looks very elegant and has also been re-upholstered during the restoration with new chrome rings. The tools and controls are all in very good condition and a feast for the eyes. All parts have been professionally repaired and add to the beautiful look of this vehicle. The top lining was also completely renewed, and as an icing on the cake, the car got a new gear knob. This shift knob is still a rarity in the second generation Corvette, since most cars at that time were sold with automatic transmissions. Today, a manual gearbox is becoming more and more popular, which is quite understandable after a few kilometers of driving. The transmission perfectly matches the engine and sporty handling of the Corvette.
So let’s take a moment to commend the previous owner for doing everything right with the restoration. Sometimes you see that the car has been completely restored, but often the technology is forgotten or old components are reused. This is by no means the case here, the car has been completely restored and is also in excellent technical condition. The end result is really beautiful. The Corvette lives up to its reputation, it truly is an American sports car and this example drives as you’d expect from a top-of-the-line Corvette.
The restoration process is well documented with a detailed photo report that accompanies the vehicle. The photos show how incredibly the restoration was done and how much love was put into rebuilding the car. In short, it’s not only a beautiful Chevrolet Corvette C2 Stingray Coupe to look at, but also a great driving car with the lovable manual gearbox.
